Reload Re-energizing Water Electrolyte Drink is formulated specifically for performance dogs to replenish nutrients needed to maintain stamina and ability throughout the day.

Electrolytes

Electrolytes, sodium, potassium, magnesium, and chloride play a major role in maintaining blood acid-base balance. When athletes perform at a high level for extended periods of time, fatigue can set in. Fatigue can be due in large part to changes in blood pH, an increase in H (hydrogen ion) and a decrease in H2CO3 (bicarbonate ion). Maintaining the proper electrolyte balance is effective in reducing these changes and maintaining performance.

Maintaining the right electrolyte balance also means providing electrolytes needed by performance dogs in the right proportions. Performance dogs do not need to replenish sodium to the degree that other athletes such as man and horses do when they perform. Thus RELOAD is formulated with the sodium-to-potassium content different from electrolyte drinks made for people and horses.

RELOAD also contains the amino acid glycine for better absorption of the electrolytes across the gut wall and into the bloodstream.

Vitamins

Using energy requires vitamins. Also, wear and tear on muscle and bone also uses up vitamins. RELOAD contains significant amounts of B1 (thiamin), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B6 (pyridoxine), and choline to replenish vitamins needed to convert fats and carbohydrates into energy and maintain performance. The antioxidant vitamins E and C help maintain tissue integrity.

B vitamins are required throughout the day, not just at feeding time. Rendering maximum energy from fats and carbohydrates requires that the right vitamins be present when they are needed. RELOAD ensures that the right vitamins are available in sufficient quantity when they are needed.

Energy

Hypoglycemia (low blood glucose) lowers drive and subsequent performance; therefore, maintaining blood glucose levels is important for success. RELOAD provides glucose from dextrose. RELOAD re-energizes to help performance dogs maintain blood glucose and get that second or third wind needed in tough competition.
